Osiris FX maintains trading teams in 3 continents, each of which benefits from seasoned professionals with an excellent record in the business.
The basics of our strategy follow tried and tested trading principles, many of which are used daily in the trading rooms of all the major banks. Osiris FX is not trying to re-invent the wheel, but where we DO set ourselves above the vast majority of the market is in our proprietary signal-generation system, and in our open-trade management techniques, which are designed to maximise profits, minimise losses and mitigate risk.
We employ the creative use of Hedging techniques involving Futures and Options, and it is against this backdrop that we then focus on our trading principles. At all times the focus remains on Capital Preservation and Risk Management. The Osiris view is that if losses are minimised and profitable trades are allowed to run, the only possible outcome is a successful campaign over time.
Our trading style is primarily positional in nature, increasing or decreasing the size of an ongoing trade in line with the prevailing market conditions whilst the overall target remains in view. We do not typically get involved in day-trading or short-term “scalping” but when conditions are right we would not pass up such trading opportunities if and when they present themselves.
Overall we aim to return 2%-3% per month on average. If these levels are exceeded in a given month we might discuss with the client the possibility of using the excess to enter a more aggressive trading phase to attempt to maximise the returns for that month and create a profit buffer to guard against any future losses.
Looking to the downside, it has to be expected that losses will occur as they are in integral part of EVERY trader’s overall record. Our mitigation techniques absorb these losses into a framework designed to deliver overall success, but sometimes even the best traders suffer a “bad run”. To guard against major losses we pre-agree maximum drawdown limits with our clients and brokers. If these limits are ever hit the automatic systems come into play, closing trades and locking out trading access until the client gives the go-ahead to continue.

Profit is NOT the first priority
The limiting of downside risk is all-important to ensure that capital is preserved and can be managed in a responsible manner. Once risk is minimised, growth and profitability usually follow!
